Podcast update, a Few Odds and Ends
We had another podcast recorded last night but our files were corrupted, so no podcast this week. I apologize while we continue to experiment with the technology, but we are getting closer to being a well oiled machine. It's too bad, because K-Mart, Iceman and I, along with some help from the Fringe Sports King, had some great stuff for you this week. Next week we should be back up and running.
By the way, we have a great name for the podcast, and may name the blog the same thing...Obstructed Views. So look for Obstructed Views to be back with an episode next Friday.
Great weekend of college sports. Many of the mid and low-major conferences will be in the thick of conference tournaments, and March Madness is truly upon us. Of course, we have the big one tomorrow night with the Tar Heels coming to Cameron for the big one. Not only is the rivalry huge, but this year, a solo regular season championship is at stake, and quite possibly a #1 seed. Not sure how you could deny Duke a #1 if they can pull it off. If that is the case, they would have won the ACC regular season title, beaten UNC twice, and have two more top 25 RPI wins against them. At that point Duke should be locked into a #1. Of course that is a big 'if'.
The number of other big games is endless. Florida v. Kentucky, St Joseph's v. Dayton, etc. are just two games that are almost elimination games for the loser. Just a great weekend of college hoops all around.
Are the Eagles going to trade Lito Sheppard? Each day that goes by leads to what I imagine is a more and more disgruntled pro-bowl caliber cornerback. If the Eagles can really move Sheppard for Larry Fitzgeral, which would be a home run from my perspective, they need to make it happen sooner rather than later.
The Philberts are only 24 days away from the home opener on March 31. Questions abound, with a lot of questions to the starting pitching staff in particular. Can Myers make the transition back to starter, where he wasn't that great before he became a closer? Can he stay healthy? Can Hamel stay healthy? Can he pitch well when he is bitter about the contract he is playing under? Is Kyle Kendrick as bad as he looked this spring? Will Jamie Moyer get a letter from the President when he turns 100 later this summer? Is Kris Benson able to pitch at a major league level coming off major injury issues? Can Adam Eaton get anybody out? Will the Phillies just suck it up and sign Kyle Lohse? Ugh. Too many question marks for a team with so much offensive firepower.

Good luck to your boys tonight, Dils! Hopefully Izzo will keep us in the tournament long enough for a shot at 'em.
Hope all is well for you.

Izzo is a pompous, arrogant, self-righteous jerk. He is a good (not great) coach and a very good recruiter, but no respect for him as a human being.
Mich St showed no ability this year to win on the road or neutral courts, so I would not expect any kind of run in the tourney, particularly vs. a quality team like Duke.
