NFL & College Football Picks
Back by popular demand, I am going to put my college and NFL football prognostications on the site each week. Last year I had a winning record on both sides of the ball, so hopefully that will continue and these picks can actually benefit some people. Today will be pretty quick without as much of the usual analysis but the picks should be just as good (note: win or die picks will be posted here later today).
NCAA:
Duke (+17.5) at Virginia. I know the 34-0 second half deficit last week does not give you a lot of faith, but I still think (at least for one more week) that Duke is better than that, and Virginia lost by 20+ to Wyoming, so I think the Devils keep it close.
Michigan (-7) vs. Oregon. You thihnk the Wolverines may be focused today after the disaster last week? The quack attack is in for more than they can handle in the Big House.
Georgia/South Carolina OVER 45. Matthew Stafford is out to win the "Anti Drew Weatherford" award this year as a QB who actually progresses during his career. He will be matched against a motivated Blake Mitchell coming off a one game suspension.
Va Tech (+11.5) at LSU. The Hokies go on the road which should be good for them after just too much emotion last week. Hokies will play very well today and may pull off the outright upset.
New Mexico St (+7) at New Mexico. Chase Holbook running Hal Mumme's offense will simply be too much for an offensively challenged Lobos tea, The Aggies may get the outright road win in a huge rivalry game here.
NFL:
St. Louis (-1) vs. Carolina. If this game were in week 7, the line would be 6. The Rams will prevail against a Carolina team that will struggle all year.
Jets (+6.5) vs. New England. The Jets will play New England tough in this one, with the ultimate outcome being a field goal.
San Diego (-6) vs. Chicago. Too many weapons and too good a defense for sexy Rexy to keep up.
Buffalo (+3) vs. Denver. You don't march into Rich Stadium as a road favorite with a seond year QB against JP Losman and come out with a win.
BIRDS (-3) at Green Bay. As usual, we have no read on the Eagles from preseason. That being said, this team should be fine if they can stay healthy and stop the run. Lots of pressure on the defensive tackles. I think they rise to the occasion.
That is it for me this week. To check out Stitzer's picks for this week in the NFL, click here.

Wow. 3 for 10. Don't quit you day job.
Check out this guy's picks. He was money all last year and is 7-3 for this year. Picks are always money in the bank.

Larry:
Are you related to Terry Tate, office linebacker?
You are right, just horrific way to start the season.
Fortunately, I have many weeks to get back above the mendoza line, as I was ni both college and pro last year.
I will check out the site you reference. Thanks for the tip!
